HCPA will be hosting a complimentary, member-only webinar with the CDPR  on January 28th at 1:00 PM EST that will highlight  the impact of Notice 2108-26 on registrations actions including amendments, new products and new active ingredients.
The main impacts of the notice include:

  • This new process will significantly increase the registration process time. The CDPR couldn’t offer an estimate of how much the increase would be, however they are hiring six additional positions to try to minimize impacts as much as possible.
  • There are no plans at this time to increase registration fees or the mill assessment to pay for the additional staff, but these will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and more funding may be needed in the future.
  • The new requirements will go into effect on May 1, 2019. Once in effect, all products still in the registration process will become subject to the new requirements. If you currently have products in the registration process which you do not anticipate being noticed for approval prior to early this year, this new process will add additional time to your approval.
  • At this time, no additional information will be required in registration applications. However, registrants may want to voluntarily provide additional data to help the CDPR meet the new requirements.
