HCPA Wins EPA 2019 Safer Choice Partner of the Year Award

The Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) is proud to announce that it has received a 2019 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safer Choice Partner of the Year Award. The Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards recognize the leadership contributions of Safer Choice partners and stakeholders who have shown outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture, selection and use of products with safer chemicals. This is the fourth time HCPA has received this honor.
“We’re extremely proud to be recognized as an EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year,” said Steve Caldeira, President & CEO of HCPA. “This is a highly respected industry honor that aligns with the values and mission of our association. HCPA member companies develop products and market brands trusted by generations of Americans, and we’re proud to partner with a program that consumers are increasingly relying on.”
HCPA would like to congratulate member companies BASF, Jelmar, RB and The Procter & Gamble Company, which were also honored as 2019 Safer Choice Partners of the Year.
Safer Choice is the EPA’s certification and labeling program to identify products with safer chemical ingredients, without sacrificing quality of performance. Safer Choice products undergo careful evaluation against a stringent set of health and environmental criteria. A product is only allowed to carry the Safer Choice label if each ingredient is among the safest in its ingredient class. HCPA has consistently advocated for the Safer Choice program, educated member companies on the program requirements and facilitated dialogue between the industry and the EPA.
