On March 12, Allyson Azar, Manager, State Government Relations & Public Policy, testified in front of the Minnesota House Agriculture and Food Finance and Policy Division in opposition to HF 212. This bill would repeal the state preemption law on pesticide regulations for “First Class Cities,” allowing cities with more than 100,000 people to regulate pesticides. HF 212 was not passed out of committee, effectively removing any chance of passage this year.
In Illinois, Azar submitted testimony in opposition of IL HB 3636, which would classify neonicotinoids as restricted-use pesticides.
