Event Info
In May 2022, HCPA and the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI), with the support of companies from across the aerosol value chain, launched the Aerosol Recycling Initiative. Through this initiative, the aerosol industry is committed to helping consumers and workers easily and properly recycle empty aerosol containers. The initiative has two goals to achieve by 2030:
- Achieve at least an 85 percent recycling access rate for all metal aerosol cans
- Label at least 90 percent of aerosol cans as recyclable with messaging about how to properly recycle them.
During the first year of the initiative, CMI and HCPA employed an expert team of consultants – GBB, Eunomia, and Jensen Hughes – to help execute the initiative’s activities and, with guidance from sponsors, identified ways to develop and expand the initiative. In this webinar, Nicholas Georges and Molly Blessing from HCPA and Scott Breen from CMI will provide an industry-wide update on the initiative’s first-year activities and next steps.
