The Household & Commercial Products Association’s (HCPA) Nicholas Georges, Senior Director, Scientific & International Affairs, and Allyson Azar, Manager, State Government Relations & Public Policy (Western Region) recently attended the Washington State Department of Ecology’s webinar on September 11 regarding their new emergency rule addressing Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and the initial notification process. The emergency rule was in response to the Washington State Legislature passage of HB1112 to phase out HFCs in certain products and equipment. For aerosol products, the restrictions begin January 1, 2020.
The Department of Ecology will be hosting a stakeholder meeting specific to aerosol propellants on November 14. HCPA staff are actively participating in the stakeholder process and will keep members informed and engaged.
