On June 18, Nicholas Georges, Senior Director, Scientific & International Affairs, participated in a prehearing conference before Colorado’s Air Quality Control Commission (Commission) regarding the proposed establishment of a new regulation (number 21).

The Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) has been proactively working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Air Pollution Control Division on adopting volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations for consumer products that reflects HCPA member feedback.

HCPA will also file a rebuttal statement before the June 25 deadline that states the association’s position on the remaining issues while also offering support if the proposed regulation is amended as such. The Commission will conduct their next hearing on this rulemaking on July 18. HCPA staff will present testimony at this hearing, as well as respond to statements and questions posed by CDPHE and the Commission.

Please contact Nicholas Georges, Senior Director, Scientific & International Affairs, at ngeorges@thehcpa.org for additional comments or questions.
