The SIR Work Group is a coalition of consumer product companies formed in 2008 to develop a means of satisfying their retail customers’ increasing need for regulatory compliance and sustainability information.

The SIR Work Group’s goal is to serve as a resource to the retail community, working with individual companies, their trade associations and other affected stakeholders to find efficient ways to address regulatory and environmental concerns. SIR’s primary focus is on the collection, storage, security, distribution and use of product ingredient data.

On Tuesday, November 6, the SIR Work Group met with UL WERCS to discuss the ongoing efforts to improve collaboration among retailers and brand owners regarding ingredient disclosure via the WERCSmart program.

The relationship between UL WERCS and SIR provides firsthand operational knowledge from brand owners based on their experiences interacting with WERCSMART 2.0. This dialogue not only increases the efficiency of the program, but also allows for brand owners to have their voices heard when dealing with technical, regulatory and sustainability issues.

If you believe your company would benefit from joining the Ignite Solutions SIR, please feel free to contact Zach Parkhill, Project Manager at zparkhill@thehcpa.org.
