HCPA’s In-Person Event Health & Safety Protocols
In response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, HCPA has implemented a new Health & Safety Protocol for its in-person events. We believe it is the right thing to do to help ensure the safety of our members, event attendees and staff, and we hope you will join HCPA to successfully implement these new measures.
By attending New Horizons in Lakeway, Texas, you agree to abide by and engage in certain mandatory health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while attending the event. HCPA has designed the event for those that have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and we ask that you consider not attending in person if you have not been fully vaccinated and instead attend virtually. Fully vaccinated means that at least two weeks have passed since you received either the second dose of a two-dose series (e.g., Moderna or Pfizer) or the sole dose in a single dose series (e.g., Johnson & Johnson).
Current CDC guidelines will be followed and enforced, and HCPA reserves the right to update health measures and attendance policies based on evolving health threats and guidance from Federal health agencies and local authorities. Attendees are encouraged to visit the CDC’s website in advance to familiarize themselves with information regarding COVID-19, transmission, and recommended safety precautions and travel guidance prior to the event. While we intend for the event to go forward as planned, the event may be impacted by future guidance from Federal and local authorities and protocols will be adjusted as needed for the safety of attendees and HCPA staff. We are vigilantly monitoring developments, including the rise of the Delta variant, and will promptly inform you of any necessary changes.
By registering for this event, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present, even with health and safety measures in place. By attending the event, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold HCPA or any of its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents or contractors liable for any illness, injury, or death resulting from your attendance at the event. You further agree that, by registering, if the event is canceled or postponed, HCPA is not liable for any hotel and/or travel expenses that you may have incurred in connection with the event. Attendees who have concerns regarding their health and safety, even with these protocols in place, are invited to attend the event virtually.
Face Masks
The state of Texas and the Lakeway Resort & Spa do not currently have a mask mandate in place. However, Lakeway is in Travis County, TX, which is currently a zone of High COVID-19 transmission, per the CDC data tracker. Therefore, HCPA will be following the CDC’s most recent guidance and requiring all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while attending indoor HCPA functions to mitigate the risk to our attendees and the HCPA staff. HCPA will provide masks on site to anyone who needs one. Attendees who refuse to abide by this mask mandate will be asked to leave, and will not be reimbursed for the cost of the event or any associated fees. Attendees who are unwilling or unable to abide by this requirement are invited to attend the event virtually.
Meeting Spaces
We will be providing a variety of seating options for attendee comfort and safety on site. We encourage attendees to take advantage of outdoor spaces at the hotel for in-person networking and other attendee social gatherings.
We will be enforcing these safety protocols throughout the event. We ask that any registrant that may have difficulty adhering to the safety guidelines kindly attend the event online.
