On March 4, HCPA filed comments with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regarding their draft summary of the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Consumer & Commercial Products Survey data. HCPA staff and Air Quality Committee members reviewed the draft summary data and supplemental materials. The draft summary provided detailed information about product sales and the chemical formulation for more than 300,000 products from 1,500 household and commercial product manufacturers, formulators, and marketers across 491 product categories sold in California during the three-year period.

CARB will host a public workshop on April 12 to discuss the survey data summary, as well as potential regulatory strategies and a timeline for the rulemaking process for developing new consumer products VOC limits. CARB plans to submit the proposed regulation to its Board before the end of 2020.
