HCPA Challenges Irresponsible Study on Disinfectants in the Media

On September 20, HCPA issued a statement responding to the recent Canadian Medical Association Journal study stating that many trusted products used to clean and disinfect homes may be contributing to the risk of children being overweight. Dr. Steve Bennett, Senior Vice President, Scientific Affairs, HCPA, responded with glaring critiques, mischaracterizations, inconsistencies and clear limitations that were not acknowledged in the study by the authors. HCPA pursued the story further and reached out to several news outlets, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Arizona Republic, informing them of the flaws this study showed.
