As we enter June, cities throughout the country will hold parades and celebrations in honor of Pride month. Originally dedicated to commemorating the Stonewall Riot in 1969, Pride month is meant to recognize the impact the LGBTQ+ community has on the world and highlight the importance of offering equal rights to all people.
At HCPA, we celebrate all forms of diversity and make every effort to provide an inclusive environment for our staff, members, and colleagues. As companies and individuals show their support in different ways, HCPA wants to take this opportunity to reaffirm our ongoing support of House Resolution 5, The Equality Act of 2019.
This bill, which was recently passed by an overwhelming majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. HCPA proudly supports such legislation and respectfully urges the Senate to pass this important bill.
Pride month is the perfect time to reaffirm the fact that the LGBTQ+ community deserves the same rights as all other people.
