On June 26, HCPA Executive Vice President, Government Relations & Public Policy, Owen Caine, attended a fundraiser for Congressman Greg Walden’s reelection campaign. The Oregon Republican is Chairman of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce, which has jurisdiction over consumer product labeling and other business issues impacting HCPA members. HCP-PAC, HCPA’s newly-formed political action committee, contributed to Chairman Walden’s campaign.

The contribution is HCP-PAC’s first since its creation in April 2018. HCP-PAC’s mission is to support and encourage the election of candidates across the political spectrum who understand and support the household and commercial products industry and the consumers and workers who use HCPA members’ products. The PAC aims to engage in political activities by supporting federal candidates in the 2018 election cycle and beyond and plans to contribute to several more candidates by the end of the election cycle. For more information about HCP-PAC, its goals, and its activities, contact HCPA’s Kevin Serafino at kserafino@thehcpa.org.
