HCPA’s new political action committee, HCP-PAC, has been actively contributing to candidates for federal office in the 2018 election cycle. HCP-PAC’s purpose is to support candidates that understand the issues facing the household and commercial products industry and the consumers and workers that use these products every day. In the past month, the HCP-PAC has made contributions to the re-election campaigns for Sen. John Thune (R-SD) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL), the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation. The Committee has jurisdiction over a vast range of issues, including science, interstate commerce, consumer issues and product safety. Owen Caine, Executive Vice President, Government Relations & Public Policy, HCPA, attended a fundraiser for Sen. Thune’s campaign, and Kevin Serafino, Director, Federal Government Relations & Public Policy, HCPA, attended an event for Sen. Nelson’s campaign. For more information on HCP-PAC political activities leading up to the 2018 elections, please contact Kevin at kserafino@thehcpa.org.
