Last month, in accordance with the HCPA Standard Setting Procedure, the Cleaning Products Division updated, reviewed and approved a two-part test method entitled, “Tough Greasy Kitchen Soil Test Method For Evaluating Cleaners Used To Clean Hard Surfaces/For Evaluating Ready-to-Use Cleaners Used To Clean Hard Surfaces.” The method also underwent the legal and 30-day public review and is offered within the Cleaning Products Test Compendium.

Specifically, Method A is a guide that evaluates the cleaning performance of products intended for use on hard surfaces in the kitchen. This guide provides techniques for soil application, cleaning and evaluating performance of detergent systems under controlled, but practical, hard surface cleaning conditions. Method B is a test method that can be used to assess the performance of kitchen degreasing products on kitchen surfaces.
