On October 14, Steve Caldeira, President & CEO, and Nicholas Georges, Senior Director, Scientific & International Affairs, of the Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) attended Chemical Watch’s Regulatory Summit Europe in Brussels, Belgium. Caldeira presented to nearly 200 attendees from various industries, including those that manufacture, market and supply to the household and commercial products industry, NGOs, retailers and government stakeholders regarding California’s Cleaning Product Right to Know Act. Caldeira emphasized the need for a federal U.S. standard on ingredient labeling that is consistent with California, and why it is essential for industry, trade associations and NGOs to continue to seek reasonable, common-sense solutions that all parties can agree to.

While in Brussels, Caldeira and Georges also met with Alain D’Haese, Secretary General, of the European Aerosol Federation (FEA), as well as Dr. Susanne Zanker, Director General, and Roberto Scazzola, Director, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, of the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products (A.I.S.E.). It is critical that HCPA continue its commitment to build, sustain and advance its work with both domestic and international allied trade associations to most effectively advocate and align on our members most important issues.
